Darlene Kotrla Horton Cason gained her much deserved golden angel wings. She passed from this earthly life to her heavenly life on January 24th, 2019. Darlene was born December 7, 1945 in San Angelo, Texas to Lillian and Oscar Kotrla. She graduated from Wall High School. Darlene was a life-long member of Wall Brethren Church where she was very honored to have served a term on the Board of Elders. There will be a family visitation Monday, January 28th, 2019 from 5-7pm at Harper Funeral Home. Service will be Tuesday, January 29th, 2019 at 10am at the Wall Brethren Church in Wall with the Rev. Tommy Tallas, pastor, officiating. Darlene will be laid to rest in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens between her husbands, David O. Horton and Bob L. Cason, who proceeded her in death. Arrangements are by Harper Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 17 years, David O. Horton. She later married Robert Lowell (Bob L.) Cason. They lived, worked, laughed and worshiped together for 20 years. She was also preceded by her parents and brothers Raymond and Eugene Kotrla. She is survived by her God-Daughter and niece, Jennifer Kotrla Mitchell and husband Nathan and their sons Hagan and Drayton; niece Alicia Kotrla McGuire and husband Brandon and their son Jaxon and daughter Madison, sister-in-law Kay Cotter, nephew Tim Kotrla and wife Lisa, niece Stacey Kotrla and nephews John and James Kotrla. Darlene was a mother to her beloved poodles that she loved and cherished through her years. PJ, Patches, Misty, Katie Scarlet and Gina Bell were so graced to have had her to love them through their earthly years. “Auntie D” was a true angel on earth whose faith, love and guidance helped her family and friends truly feel God’s shining love. She always had the perfect words or bible verse to encourage and remind those of her unwavering faith and everlasting hope. Conversations with her always left us feeling more loved, fulfilled and truly blessed to have her sparkle in our lives. Her wish was that even in her absence, for everyone she loved to continue to feel her light blessing us. Her light was truly so great that her beauty and grace will forever be remembered and missed. We truly will continue to feel her light blessing us forever until we are joined with her again Pallbearers will be Larry Kotrla, Eddie Kotrla, Tim Kotrla, Dale Weise, Rick Weise, and Bernie Fuchs. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Mitchell, Hagan Hartman, Drayton Mitchell, Brandon McGuire, Jaxon McGuire and Madison McGuire. Lord, when my soul takes flight may it rise swiftly to live forever in Your love and care. SAINT THERESA’S PRAYER May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.
