Margie Williamson Hensley

April 1, 1933 — November 17, 2019

Margie Williamson Hensley, our beloved Wife, Mother, Mom, Grandma, and Friend went home to be with her Lord, and Savior on Sunday, November 17, 2019 covered in the prayers of her friends, and family. Margie was born on April 1, 1933 in San Angelo, Texas to L.A. "Dock", and Elsie Reinhardt Williamson. Margie met the love of her life, Roscoe S. "Bud" Hensley on Oct. 16,1949, when she was a junior in San Angelo High School. After being discharged from the service in Dec. 1949, Bud went to San Angelo College while waiting for Margie to finish, and graduate San Angelo High School in 1951. One week after their graduations Margie, and Bud were married on June 2, 1951 in Park Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Beryl Lovelace officiating. God blessed them with four Sons, and they celebrated 57 loving years of marriage. A cherished part of Margie's life was her relationship with her Lord, and Savior, and being a Christian friend to many. Margie considered the most important role in her life as that of being a Wife, Mother, and Grandmother; she believed her Sons were her biggest achievement, and success; Psalms 127:3, "Sons are a heritage from the Lord, and children are a reward from Him". She dearly loved her Husband, Sons, Daughters-in-love, four Grandchildren, and 7 Great Grandchildren more than life itself. Her family was her life. She was so proud of her family, and all their accomplishments. Margie went to Stephen F. Austin elementary as did all of her Sons, and she cherished all of the football, and baseball games her Sons played in; Stephen F. Austin, Lee Junior High, and the Bobcats. She especially loved when her husband Bud was their coach of the Austin Bulldogs, and Gray-Y Little League baseball, and football. She also was very proud when they became members of the Bobcats, her Alma Mater. After Margie's four Sons were all in school, she went to work at the Credit Bureau of San Angelo as the Collection Supervisor and worked there for 13 years. Margie was a member of Park Heights Baptist Church 55 plus years where she enjoyed being on the benevolence comm., being a greeter, and singing in the choir. She, and Bud joined Glen Meadows Baptist Church in November 1998 where she presently is a member. Margie loved being a member of Glen Meadows choir and being a part of establishing the choir library. She loved her Tuesday morning Bible Study Class, working in the Church office on Wednesdays, being a greeter, she loved her Joy Sunday School Class, and being one of the Banner Ladies at Glen Meadows. One other thing Margie was proud of, and instrumental in was her 1951 High School Class Reunions, celebrating their 50th in 2001. A big enjoyment for Margie was traveling in the motorhome with Bud, and their poodle, Brandi. Another big enjoyment for Margie was when she, and her husband Bud built a home on 5 acres in 1997 where they enjoyed the serenity of sitting on the porch watching God's creations. Margie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bud on April 29, 2008, parents, grandparents, brother, and infant brother at birth. Left to cherish her "after glow" and memories are her beloved Sons, Sam L. Hensley (Karen), Mike E. Hensley (Patti), Curtis B. Hensley (Cathy), and Guy M. Hensley. Grandchildren, Jeff L. Hensley, Chris M. Hensley (Katie), and their children, Samantha Paige, and Christopher Tyler; Ross M. Hensley and sons, Calvin Ross, and Ryan Charles, and Holly Hensley Hartsfield (Brooks) and their children, Ashton Paul, Avory John, and Alexi Ryann. The family will have a visitation from 5:00-7:00pm, Wednesday, November 20th at Harper Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be 10:00am, Thursday, November 21st at Glen Meadows Baptist Church with burial to follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Glen Meadows Baptist Church. "My precious Sons, and my cherished family, I love you so very much, and I am so proud of each one of you". Don't cry but celebrate my wonderful journey through life. Let your memories bring smiles, and happiness. Know that your gifts of yourselves, and love to me were beyond measure. Be thankful for all the time we've shared, love, and take care of each other, and take comfort in my peace. Above all, may your faith in God be strengthened. Have a happy celebration of family, friends, fellowship, and remembrances in prayer, scripture, and music, Till we meet again, know your Dad, and I love you, and will be smiling down, and waiting for you with open arms. Your Mom, and Grandma Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me. 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. We are on this earth but a short time A mist, a vapor, This life is temporary A brief stopping place before eternity.
