Marguerite Reeves

March 19, 1933 — January 15, 2020

Marguerite Reeves, 86, of Big Lake, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 in San Angelo. Marguerite was born March 19, 1933 in Childress, Texas to James French and Genevieve Griffin French. She grew up in Childress and graduated from Childress High School. After high school she worked in the banking industry for a few years. Marguerite was a loving mother and homemaker who devoted her life to her family. In the 1960’s she moved with her family to Big Lake where she made her home for the next 60 years, raising her children and later working two different roles in life. She was the bookkeeper for St. Margaret of Cortona Catholic Church in Big Lake for over 30 years. Marguerite also worked as the Deputy Clerk at the Reagan County Court House for many years as well. She was a strong woman of faith and very community oriented. She loved her church family and her community with a passion and would seek out ways to help others wherever she could. Marguerite’s love for others and her helping nature will remain in our hearts forever and we will dearly miss her! She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Deborah Reeves, her sister, Carolyn Evans and a niece Leann Evans. She is survived by her son, Kelley Reeves; her Sister, Marilyn Cawiezel; 3 Nieces, Kay Cawiezel, Susann Evans, and Cheryl Rondeau.
