Pauline B. Nelson,72, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 31, 2019 in San Angelo. Pauline was born July 16, 1946 to Elmo Bell and Louise Gibbs Bell in Blanton, MS. She grew up in Lorman, MS and until she was 16. Pauline graduated from Coleman High School in Greenville, MS. She then attended college for two years before starting to work in the banking industry. She moved to California in her 20’s to the bay area and would work for 15 years in finance and then began working for the State of California in various positions. First, for the school for the blind and the school for the deaf, in Fremont, Ca., and then with the transportation department in San Francisco for 20 years. She retired from the State of California in 2007. Pauline married the love of her life, John Elbert Nelson on February 23, 1975 in Reno, Nevada and they shared 41 beautiful years together. Pauline was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother who adored her family and loved being with her children and grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, playing cards and socializing with friends. Most of all she had a strong faith in the Lord. Her husband John answered his call from the Lord and ministered to many. Throughout their lives they served the Lord and others in infinite ways. Pauline was a very loving and giving person to everyone and her beautiful spirit of giving and love will remain in our hearts forever. She will dearly be missed by all who loved her. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, husband John and her daughter Valerie Louise Buckner and brother-in-law, Charles Winters. She leaves to cherish her memories, her sons, Delvon Nelson and his wife Nicole, of San Francisco, CA., and Chester Buckner, of Newark, N.J; 4 Grandchildren, Patrice Buckner, Delvon Buckner, Xavier Buckner and Lucas Nelson; her sisters, Mary Louise Bell and Dorothy Winters, both of Greenville MS, and Barbara Jean Wright, of Arlington, TX; her Sisters-in-law, Evelyn Drones, of San Angelo, JoAnn Martin, of San Angelo, Avetta Demry, of Las Vegas, NV, Patsy Bland and Travis Brown, of Houston, and Lynelle and Lynelle Ellison, of Dallas; and her Uncle, Otis Anderson, of Texas. Pauline also leaves to cherish her memory numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins and many friends. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. with a wake starting at 7:00 P.M at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, June 15, 2019 at New Birth Full Gospel Assembly Church with Pastor Leo McCarty officiating.
