Allen S. 'Mac' Mccleery

Allen Seeley 'Mac' McCleery, age 88, son of John Joseph McCleery and Lillian Hobbs McCleery, passed into his new life on November 20, 2018. He was born on October 23, 1930, in Tom Green County. He graduated from San Angelo High School in 1948, and later proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Ray McCleery and his children: Michael Hatfield (Rhonda) of San Angelo; Sharon Robbins (Wesley) of Big Spring; Glenn McCleery (Beverley) of San Angelo; and Todd McCleery of San Angelo. Mac was also Poppy to 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Also surviving 'Mac' are: Forrest McCleery of Odessa, Lois Fergason of San Angelo, Sisters in law Geneva Blair, Margie White and Betty Sparks, and numerous nephews and nieces whom he dearly loved. Preceding 'Mac' are his parents and siblings: Irene McCleery, Ida Mae Craft, John McCleery, and Bill McCleery. 'Mac' worked in the automotive, truck and industrial parts business for over 50 years, He had many friends that he cherished in his career, especially Paul Guinn and Russell Wadsworth. 'Mac' was a member of Edmund Blvd. Baptist Church and had many special friends. There will be an open viewing from 7:30 am - 8:00 pm on Friday, November 23, 2018, at Harper Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Belvedere Cemetery in San Angelo. His pastor, Tony Valdez, will conduct the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Edmund Blvd. Baptist Church, or Hospice of San Angelo, or Meals for the Elderly. The family would like to thank Hospice of San Angelo for their excellent care during his illness, especially nurses Debbie Bishop, Shirley Jones, Pam Ross.
