Barbara Ann Choate, 85, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025 surrounded by church members. Born June 30, 1939, Ann, a true Southern Belle, lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to the school and her church. The holy book of good deeds includes volunteer work such as First Baptist Church Choir and library, and selfless contributions of love to San Angelo School District as head librarian and Texas Historical Commission as member.

Ann attended Angelo State college and graduated from Baylor Univ with Masters in 1961. She loved to read books, but especially pure ones. She sent handwritten greeting cards to everyone on every special occasion. Her legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Ann was preceded in death by parents Leslie Arthur Choate/Jewel Mae (Leinneweber) Choate of San Angelo, brother/wife Doug Less Choate/ Shirley Jean (O’Dell) Choate of Tulsa, OK and sister Kathryn Doris (Choate) Baker. Ann is survived by her sister’s husband Edward Lee Baker of Richardson, TX.

A service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held on Saturday May 31 at 2pm at First Baptist Church of San Angelo, where family and friends will gather to share stories, memories, and the immense love she shared with the world. Ann’s family wishes to express their gratitude to all who have supported them during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charity of choice, Hospice of San Angelo, or First Baptist Church of San Angelo.
