Bennie Lee McIntyre was born to Lee Roy and Vada McIntyre in Eden, Texas on October 16, 1940, and spent most of his time in Concho County, where he cherished the Western way of life. He passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026, at the age of 85, surrounded by his children.
Bennie’s career with ranching and farming began in his earliest childhood years. His deep passion for agriculture and livestock was truly ignited through his involvement with 4-H and FFA projects. Showing livestock became a large part of his childhood, which cultivated a passion, skill, and deep respect for the land and the animals, that he later proudly shared and passed down to his children.
A true cowboy at heart, some of Bennie’s absolute favorite times in life were spent horseback. He was entirely at home in the saddle, whether he was helping round up cattle, working livestock in the pens, or utilizing his skill of roping.
Bennie will be missed by his family and friends, but his wisdom and clever wit will live on in the hearts of his family.
He is survived by children: David (Theresa) McIntyre, Dean (Suzette) McIntyre, Stacy (Tina) McIntyre, and Shelly (Scott) Brady.
Grandchildren: Kandra McIntyre, Trista (Craig) Box, Cody (Olivia) West, Lacy (Daniel) Miller, Lindsey (Heath) Elliott, Cort (Temple) West, Derek (Brett) McIntyre, Reid (Callie) McIntyre, Beth (Michael) Martinez, Brandon (Shelby) McIntyre, Greggory (Katrina) McIntyre, Sterling (Kimberly) Jackson, Adrianne (John) Simmons, Kourtnye (Dalton) Northway, and numerous great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by siblings: Nelda Duncan, and Dale (Marion) McIntyre.
Bennie was preceded in death by: wife Billie Gloeckler, and siblings: Roy McIntyre, Billy McIntyre, and Barbara Cass.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming love, kindness, and support shown over this past year. We would like to extend a special thank you to Maria, Nicole, and the other caring staff who provided compassion, and dedication to Bennie.
