Bettie June Jones Kelly

Bettie June Jones Kelly, 83, of San Angelo went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 11, 2019 in San Angelo surrounded by her loving family. Bettie was born June 2, 1935 in Groesbeck, Texas to Sylvester and Julia Tate. She grew up in Groesbeck, Texas. Bettie married the love of her life, Freddy M. Kelly, Sr. on March 8, 1965 and they shared 54 beautiful years together and were blessed with four children. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Greater St. Paul AME Church of San Angelo. Texas. Bettie was the Church Steward, President of the Stewardess. President of the YPD department, Delegate of the Northwest Texas Conference. Bettie served faithfully as the church Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of the local Eastern Star Chapter. She was a Girl Scout Leader and Brownie Leader. She was very active in the school PTA. She retired from Ethicon, Inc. after 22 years of dedicated service. Bettie was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Julia. 1 sister Irene Polk and 1 brother Henry Jones . She was also preceded in death by her husband she affectionately called “Freddy Mac.” Those patiently waiting to see her again are her four children, Freddy Kelly, Jr, and his wife Lucia, of San Angelo TX ; Darryl Kelly and his wife Jacquelyne, of Los Angeles, CA , Feleisha Kelly, of San Angelo, TX and Lafonda Kelly, of Houston, TX; 13 Grandchildren; Alcedric, Stephanie, Angela, Christopher, Sparqual, Aaron, Darryl, Darcell, Nathanael, Jasmine, Marco, Shamika,and Maurice; 21 Great Grandchildren and 1 great-great grand child; 2 Brothers, her twin, D. Jones of Waco and 12 sisters, She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and close friends. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 18, 2019 at St. Paul Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jeremy Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers for the Service will be Alcedric Kelly, Henry Maberry, Jr., Chris Hearne, Jonathan Burman, Darryl Kelly and Jamil Lucas.
