Billie Jean Evans, 86, of San Angelo, TX was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 12th, 2025. Billie was born on October 12, 1938, in Tahoka, TX to James Bailey (JB) James and Billie Louise (Babe) Tolliver.
Billie attended San Angelo High School. She married Donald Eugene Evans, and together they had four children. She worked at Ethicon for 28 years and was a member of Harris Avenue Baptist Church. Billie loved to dance, sew, make crafts, travel, and attend chili cook-offs. She was always there when someone needed help or to visit them.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Bernice Owens, granddaughter, Amanda Evans, and great-granddaughter, Moriah Juarez.
Billie is survived by her four children, son, Edwin Evans (Pam) of Junction, TX, daughter, Dorinda Payne, son, Micheal Evans (Janet) of Southside, AR, and son, Thomas Evans; 9 grandchildren, James Payne (Christina) of Colorado City, TX, Amy Payne, Daniel Evans (Kathryn) of San Antonio, TX, Michael Evans II of Fort Worth, TX, Ashlee Crenshaw (Hayden) of Bloomington, TX, Shane Yatska (Ashley) of Clinton, AR, Jordan Yatska of Taos, NM, Justin Yatska of Laning, MI, and Somer Yatska of Southside, AR; 23 great-grandchildren, Joey Evans, Andy Evans, Jake Evans, Luke Evans, Malachi Juarez, Mordecai Juarez, Micaiah Juarez, McKenzie Juarez, Alex Wise, David Hisaw IV (Amanda), Burgandy Hisaw, Abby Payne, Miley Payne, Weston Payne, Henry Martinez, Keegan Martinez, Caleb Evans, Kirra Yatska, Aurora Yatska, Beck Yatska, Wyatt Yatska, Landon Vaughan, Paxton Vaughan; and 1 great-great-baby on the way McKenzie Lynne Hisaw; brother, Dan James of Breckenridge, TX, sister, Linda Hilgartner (Bobby) of Breckenridge, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be Monday, August 18, 2025, from 12:00pm-7:00pm at Harper Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 10:00am at the Harper Funeral Home Chapel.
There will be a private burial at Lakeview Cemetery in Winters, TX.
Any memorial donations in her honor may be provided to Meals for the Elderly. The family would like to thank San Angelo Nursing & Rehab and Angels Care Hospice for their exceptional care.
