Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Billy Antoine Taylor Sr.
Today, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a ministry faithfully fulfilled.
On 06/20/2026, our beloved Billy Antoine Taylor Sr. answered God's call and transitioned from earth to glory. While we grieve the loss of his physical presence, yet we rejoice knowing that he has received the ultimate reward—a seat in the Master's choir and everlasting peace in the presence of the Lord.
Born on August 17, 1984 in Austin, Texas to Austin Charles Taylor Jr. and Lore Ann Spivey. Billy’s nativity was particularly special to his mother, Lore Ann, as he was born a day before her own birthday. Billy was a person whose life was filled with faith, family, love, and music. He had a unique ability to make people feel welcome, encouraged, and uplifted. Whether through a kind word, a warm smile, or him shredding the organ he left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
From early childhood, Billy began playing the keys and preaching the word of God. Though, to many, he was more than just a minister, he was the heartbeat behind the choir, the steady hand behind the keyboard and organ that helped usher the body of Christ into the presence of God. Through every song, he offered praise, comfort, healing, and joy.
Billy attended Odessa Permian High School and shortly after married the love of his life and mother of his children Charmain Taylor on April 30th, 2005. Billy fathered 3 talented children and instilled in them not only a love for God but a love for music, creating a legacy of faith, worship and family that will endure for years to come.
Beyond the walls of the church, Billy loved spending time with his family and close friends. He believed in showing up for people and sharing God's love through actions as much as words. Everyone who knew him, knew him to always be so full of life, even throughout challenging times. Billy persevered throughout life’s challenges with an unshakeable belief and faith in Christ Jesus.
He leaves behind a loving family: His beloved wife, Charmain Taylor, along with his dear children, Marissa Rodgers, Destiny Taylor, and Billy Taylor Jr. His grandmother, Vera Davis Spivey, his mother Lore Ann Spivey, his three brothers; Austin Taylor III (Heidi Taylor), Ronald Taylor (Precious Taylor), and Brandon Taylor (Tarea Taylor); his mother and father-in-law, Debra and Ronald Rodgers; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father the late Bishop A.C. Taylor Jr. and grandparents; Bishop A.C. Taylor Sr., Doris Taylor, and Bishop Billy Spivey.
As a man of God, Billy loved to preach and use his prophetic gifting. Billy’s most notable sermons he preached were titled Check Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself, The Ravens Are Coming, and Give God a Ghetto Praise. His messages were powerful, anointed, and filled with practical wisdom that resonated with people from all walks of life. He never hesitated to speak what God placed on his heart, and many were blessed, delivered, encouraged, and strengthened through his ministry. His voice may be silent on earth, but the seeds he planted through preaching and prophecy will continue to bear fruit for generations to come.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice in knowing Billy is now forever resting in the loving presence of the Lord. Today, we do not say goodbye. We say thank you.
As we celebrate Billy's home going, we take comfort in knowing that his earthly purpose has been fulfilled, the song of his life continues to echo in our hearts.
