Bobbie Lee Semlinger

February 20, 1934 — February 27, 2026

San Angelo

Bobbie Lee Semlinger, 92, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born on February 20, 1934, in the small town of Cooper, Texas, to Frances Riggs Aten and Lee Bryan West. At just 18 years old, Bobbie met the love of her life, David J. Semlinger. Their love story became the foundation of a beautiful life together that spanned decades.

Bobbie and David married and built a life centered on Love and Family. Together they raised three children: Pamela K. Vavala (deceased) her husband Frank Vavala (deceased), Julie Lynn Terry and her husband Mark Terry, and Johnny Semlinger and his wife Joy Semlinger. She was a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren and a beloved great-grandmother to 13 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy.

She is also survived by her brother, Mike Kelly, with whom she shared a lifelong bond.

Most of her life was spent in San Antonio, Texas, where she devoted herself to raising her children before beginning a successful career with USAA. After retirement, Bobbie and David moved to their dream home on the lake in San Angelo, where they enjoyed 30 wonderful years together, surrounded by family, laughter, and the peaceful beauty of the water she loved.

Bobbie and David shared a passion for travel and adventure. They enjoyed countless cruises and spent many summers at the Texas coast, passing along their love of water, sand, sunshine, and simple happiness to their children and grandchildren.

Bobbie lived a full and beautiful life. She loved deeply, gave generously, and created a legacy of family that will continue for generations.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her devoted caregivers — Monica S, Diana, Monica G., Tina, Irma and her nurse with Gentiva Hospice Care, Meghan — for their compassion, kindness, and faithful care.

A family celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to a charity that is meaningful to you in her honor.

She will be profoundly missed and forever cherished.
