Bobby Dewight Watson, Sr. passed away on May 5, 2026, in San Angelo at the age of 78.
Born on July 1, 1947, to Neal Watson and Lena Oliver Watson, Bobby grew up in San Angelo before moving to Midland, where he spent more than 30 years working in maintenance in the hotel industry. Following his retirement, he returned to San Angelo to be closer to family and lifelong friends.
Bobby enjoyed the simple pleasures in life — fishing, drinking a cold beer, and spending time with family and friends at gatherings. He had a special love for animals, especially his dogs, who brought him great companionship and joy through the years.
He is survived by his son, Bobby Watson, Jr. of Menard; his grandchildren, Jamie Sean Watson and Victoria Raline Black, both of San Angelo; one brother, Billy Peel of Lufkin; one sister, Mary Sisk and her husband Stanley of San Angelo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Carolyn Watson, his brothers and sisters, Johnny Watson, Junior Watson, Wanda Fox, and William Peel; and one grandson, Justin Lane Watson.
Bobby will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love for family and friends, and the many memories shared around laughter, stories, and good times together. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
No services will be held at this time.
