Bryan Mikulik

August 4, 1970 — December 26, 2018

Quickly and without any preparation, God chose to take home two of our beloved family members, Bryan and Debra Thompson Mikulik, on Wednesday December 26, 2018, shortly after 12 PM. The two of them were returning with their daughters to their home in Forney, Texas, after a fun-filled family Christmas at the Mikulik farm near Wall, when a tragic car accident took their lives near Cross Plains, Texas, and later, the life of the youngest daughter, Olivia, on December 31, 2018. Bryan Joseph, the youngest of six children, was born August 4, 1970, to Harvey and Mary Jane Mikulik of Wall. He was a graduate of Wall High School and later earned his degree in nursing. Bryan and Debra were married June 20, 1992, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wall, Texas. They were the parents of two vibrant, loving, teenage daughters: Alexa Kate, 15, and Olivia Nicole,14. Bryan’s wife, Debra, was a supportive, caring wife and mother while also being a dedicated daughter to Sue Thompson of Forney and beloved sister to Sheila Thompson of Plano, Texas. Olivia, their daughter, was a joyful, athletic, young lady. She enjoyed playing with her cousins and sister on rolled cotton bales on Christmas Day. Bryan’s love for his wife and daughters was evident by his devotion to them and his loving support of all their activities. Family excursions and travels to destinations brought happiness and pleasure to his entire family. He so loved his family with all his heart as well as his God in Heaven. His church family in Forney enriched his life with joy while his truly special neighbors made it even more meaningful. Bryan and Debra opened their hearts and arms to neighbors, church members and family alike. Bryan will always be remembered for his infectious smile and wit. He was an outstanding nurse professional in the medical field. He cared deeply for his patients while employed at West Texas Rehab in San Angelo, Medical City Hospital in Dallas as an RN in the Cardiac Unit, and currently at UT Southwestern in Dallas. Bryan was preceded in death by his grandparents: Bill and Hilda Mikulik and Mack and Emma Halfmann, all of Wall. Bryan is survived by his daughter, Alexa, of Forney, father and mother, Harvey and Mary Jane Mikulik of Wall, and his five siblings and their spouses. Sister, Diane Weishuhn and husband, Clayton, and three brothers: Michael Mikulik and wife, Kim, Kevin Mikulik and wife, Cindy, and David Mikulik and wife, Darla, all of Wall, Texas and another sister, Gayle Fincher and husband, Layton, of Midland, Texas, plus fifteen cherished nieces and nephews. In addition, he is survived by his Aunt Barbara Mikulik of Wall, Texas, and many maternal aunts, uncles and dear friends. Rosary service for all three, Bryan, Debra and Olivia, will be held at 6:00 PM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Wall, Texas on Thursday, January 3, 2019. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow in St. Ambrose Catholic Church Cemetery, Wall, Texas.
