It is with heavy hearts, mild disbelief, and more than a few eye-rolls that we announce the passing of Camille Hodges, who finally decided to stop running the show and leave the rest of us to figure things out on our own.
Camille spent her life perfecting the art of being right, whether she actually was or not. She generously shared her opinions with anyone within earshot and occasionally with people who weren't. She never met a situation that couldn't be improved by her commentary, nor a family gathering that couldn't benefit from a little extra drama and a lot of laughter.
She leaves behind her husband, John Henry, who survived a lifetime of her instructions, reminders, and helpful suggestions. Also left to cherish her memory are her children, Kyria Breazzeal, Paige Hodges, and Steven Hodges; her son-in-law, Raydean Burch and daughter in law Casey Cochran; and her beloved grandchildren, Mykayla Perry, Tristyn Perry, Jake Breazzeal, Isabella Breazzeal, Isaiah Watkins, and Xavier Solis; adopted children Katie Pearl and the late Jake Engle, all of whom learned many valuable life lessons from Camille—whether they asked for them or not.
Camille was known for loving her family fiercely even those she had adopted as her own, worrying professionally, and somehow knowing everyone's business before they did. Her absence will leave a noticeable silence, though many suspect they'll continue hearing her voice in their heads reminding them they're doing it wrong.
In honor of Camille, family and friends are encouraged to tell stories, laugh loudly, argue confidently, rock out in the car to her all-time favorite song Bohemian Rhapsody, and remember that she would probably have corrected at least three things in this obituary.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and, if we're being honest, impossible to replace.
Rest in peace, Camille. The family meeting can finally begin without your commentary—but it won't be nearly as entertaining. ❤️
