Carl Douglas Henderson, 70 years old, was called home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2025. He was born August 20, 1955 in San Angelo, Texas to Jesse Smith and Ruby Winfred Henderson. Carl was a lifelong resident of San Angelo. He graduated from Central High School in 1974. After graduation he worked at Western Printing as a printer for 20 years. He attended Howard College to get his pharmacy license in 2003. Carl worked at HEB as a pharmacy tech for 10 years and at Shannon Pharmacy until he retired in 2020. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Melba Burton. His memory lives on through his son, Aaron Jamal Henderson; his sisters, Dorothy Burnett (Robert) Jessel Kelly, Jonie Bell (Carlton); and his brother, Lavertis Henderson, all of San Angelo; his granddaughter, Dilcy Henderson, of Brownwood; his nieces, Farina Brown (Nick) of Alaska, MiKayla and Kamara Kelly, of Jacksonville, FL, Tya Kelly, of San Angelo, Tajzyea Kelly, of San Angelo and Felicia Kelly, of Virginia; his nephews, Michael Kelly (Amie), of Jacksonville, FL, Adrian Kelly, of Florida, and Jai Henderson (Jamie) of Abilene; 3 great nieces, Aliyah Kelly, of Jacksonville, FL, Taelyn Brown, of San Angelo and Marli, of Abilene; 4 great nephews, A.J. Kelly, Jr., of Virginia, T.J. Kelly, of Pflugerville, Joe Angel Henderson, of Eden, and Bryant Mitchell, of Austin, TX. Carl loved his family. He loved to cook for family get togethers and he also loved to talk. He had many friends and coworkers. He was very musically inclined and played the piano and organ. Carl had a passion for helping others any way he could. His legacy of love and helping others will live on in our hearts forever and we will dearly miss him! The family will receive friends for visitation from 3:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M., Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 P.M., Monday, September 29, 2025, at Harper Funeral Home with Superintendent Jackie Allen officiating. The burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. The family would like to express their sincerest thanks and appreciation to the ICU and Critical Care staff at Shannon Medical Center for all of the loving care given to Carl during his illness.
