Carolyn Ann Prosise peacefully passed away in the early morning of July 1st, 2025, in her home located in Eden, Texas surrounded by loved ones.
Carolyn was born August 13th, 1953, in Sonora, Texas. Her parents Raymond Gerald and Mary Ann Prosise then relocated the family to Eden, Texas where Carolyn and her 4 siblings grew up. Carolyn attended Eden High School where she was a cheerleader and was voted most popular. In her 20’s her world and heart became fuller when she embraced becoming a mother to Chandra Michele and Donald Lee Rabenaldt. Carolyn then found her calling to serve her community in being a dispatcher in Concho County where her compassion for others led her to receive the “Silent Hero Award”. Carolyn had many roles in life, but her favorite was being a grandmother which led her to move to Mertzon, Texas so she could be closer to her two granddaughters Carlee and Abigail. One of her favorite things to do during her time off was travel and see her grandson Elam in San Antonio. Carolyn’s deep love for children also inspired her to open her own in-home daycare where she treated other’s children like her own. She also served the Irion County Community by dispatching before moving back to Eden to take care of her father while also returning as a dispatcher for Concho County, until she retired in 2018 after 21 years of service. Carolyn’s most known attributes of compassion, love, understanding and patience were reflected in her many roles in life.
Carolyn enjoyed many things in life including cooking for her family, Sister Sundays with Brenda, traveling with her children and grandchildren, and most of all spending time with her loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Alma Lumbley, parents Gerald and Mary Prosise and her brother Eddie Prosise. She is survived by her daughter Michele, son Donnie (Tiffany). Grandchildren Carlee, Abigail (Trevin), and Elam. Brothers Ron (Carmen) and Jerry (Vickey) and sisters Brenda (Carlton) and Jan (Larry). Niece Misty (Jeremiah) and her children Logan, Kolton, Hunter, and Kaitlyn. She was also loved dearly by her sister-in-law Candy, her cousin Carolyn Gail (Sylvester) and nephew Ron Young.
