Chief Master Sergeant Gary Owen Dube, 61, passed away on July 4, 2025, in Thailand. He was born on November 10, 1963, to Roland and Elaine Dube.
Gary honorably served his country for 30 years in the United States Air Force, culminating his distinguished career as the Operations Coordinator for the Defense Attaché Office at the United States Embassy in Manila, Philippines. He entered the Air Force in 1985 as an inertial navigation and Doppler radar systems apprentice. Over the span of his career, Gary gained more than 25 years of flight line maintenance experience on C-130E/H, MC-130E/H/N/P, B-1B, B-2A, and B-52H aircraft in both home station and expeditionary environments.
His leadership roles included serving as a maintenance flight chief, operational test and evaluation superintendent, quality assurance superintendent, and aircraft maintenance unit superintendent. Gary proudly deployed in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM.
Among his many honors, Gary was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, and the Air Force Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters.
Gary married the love of his life, Saranya Homsaen, and together they shared 37 years of marriage. He was a proud and devoted father to their four children: Sarawut Homsaen, Zachary Dube, Sarah Dube, and Hermina Herring and her husband, Ka’ron. He was also a beloved grandfather to Jasmine, Kayden, and Oden.
He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and brother, Donald Dube. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Susan Letendere.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Harper Funeral Home at 6:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church at 10:00am.
