Our father, Clinton Madison Cole, went home to be with Jesus on October 21, 2021 at the age of 90. He was born on March 9, 1931 in Jennings, LA to Daniel and Ursa Cole. As a young man he moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, and attended Colorado College where he met and fell in love with Barbara Wattenbarger. They got married in Shove Chapel on the campus of Colorado College in 1953 and were married nearly 65 years before Barbara went home to meet the LORD. Colorado Springs was their home for most of their adult lives. In 2014, they moved to San Angelo, Texas to be near family. Clint was a well-known and widely respected attorney and judge for nearly 60 years. He was a man of faith and integrity and a faithful family man. He had many interests and pursuits especially golf. He played in many tournaments and even won a few. He was so excited one day when he made a hole in one. In addition, he was a member of a bowling league, the boxing team in college, a member of the Young Republicans, and taught law classes at Colorado College. As a teenager, Clint hitchhiked across the country during the summer. He stopped at various towns, roomed with families, and worked on their farms. He was also musical and artistic. He sang in the church choir, and played the cello and trumpet in the church praise team. He also loved to paint in his spare time. Clint is survived by his three daughters: Linda Lee and husband James of Oklahoma, Jeannie Schulz and husband Carl of Texas, and Camille Carpenter and husband Bill of Alaska. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Clint Coles and wife Whitney, Ann Marie Jaeger and husband John, Christi Steckbeck and husband Hunter, Amanda Parks and husband Ryan, Michael Carpenter, Angela Lee and Joshua Lee, as well as six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara and his sister Luna Alexander. A memorial service will be held in San Angelo, Texas on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 11:00 am in the chapel at Harper Funeral Home. Sam Crosby of San Saba, Texas will be officiating. A grave site service will be held in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Cemetery. Mike Routt will be officiating. A special thank you to all the amazing staff at Rio Concho Terrace. They helped make his last year and a half a comfortable and pleasant experience. Thank you to all of the caring doctors and nursing staff on the fifth floor of Shannon Medical Center. “The LORD is my shepherd I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. He leadeth me beside still waters. He restoreth my soul: He guideth me in the path of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea thou I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and they staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23: 1-4 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rio Concho Terrace.
