Daniel Medina, 72, passed away on June 10, 2026. He was born on August 6, 1953, in Artesia, New Mexico, and was raised in Lovington, New Mexico. He was the beloved son of Paul Medina and Socorro Hernandez Medina.
Daniel was a hardworking man who spent much of his life self-employed in construction and painting. Known as a true jack-of-all-trades, there was very little he could not repair, build, or improve with his hands. His resourcefulness, work ethic, and willingness to help others earned him the respect and admiration of family, friends, and neighbors alike.
A simple man at heart, Daniel found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved. He cherished his family and friends and was happiest when surrounded by them. He also enjoyed taking walks with his dogs, watching classic Westerns, and relaxing with his favorite movie, Dances with Wolves.
Daniel will be remembered for his quiet strength, his generous spirit, and his ability to fix just about anything. His legacy lives on in the memories he created and the lives he touched through his kindness, hard work, and love.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Medina and Socorro Hernandez Medina and his brother-in-law, Pablo Gonzales.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Medina, of San Angelo; his children, Paul Medina, of Lovington, New Mexico, Nick Medina and his wife Laura, of Lubbock, Dalila Huertes, of San Angelo, Daniel Medina, of San Angelo and Damien Medina, of San Angelo; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sisters, Celia Gonzales, of Denver City, Tx, Gloria Trujillo and her husband Junior, of Lovington, N.M., and Ida Garcia and her husband Gilbert, of Hobbs, N.M. He is also survived by numerous other family members and close friends.
He leaves behind many family members and friends who will miss him dearly and cherish the time they shared with him.
The family will hold a memorial service in New Mexico at a later time.
