Danny Ray Porter, of Wall, Texas, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the age of 57. He was born on June 14, 1968, in San Angelo, Texas, to Jack and JoAnn (Gilbert) Porter.

Danny is survived by his loving wife, Debbie (Jones) Porter of Wall, Texas; his sons Anthony Salgren and wife Destiny of Abilene, Brenden Porter of Euless, Texas, and Sterlin Porter and wife Sydnee of New Braunfels, Texas; and his stepsons Stetson Hancock and wife Megan, and Tanner Hancock and wife Kayla, all of Mulvane, Kansas. Known affectionately as “Pops,” Danny was blessed with 10 grandchildren, all of whom he adored and cherished time with.

He is also survived by his siblings Randy Porter and wife Jane of Tuscola, and Sandy Warner and husband Gary of San Angelo; his nephews Jason Gipson and wife Shauni of Snyder, Texas, and Jeff Sessom and wife Katrina of San Angelo, Texas; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends. Danny was a very animated storyteller and loved nothing more than sharing stories and making people laugh.

Danny was married to the mother of his boys, Toni Porter, for 20 years. He later met Debbie Jones on June 13, 2014. They dated for four years and were married on June 16, 2018. During their 11½ years together, Danny and Debbie lived in Abilene and Hillsboro, Texas; Shawnee, Oklahoma; and ultimately made their home in Wall, Texas.

Danny graduated from Central High School and soon began a career in sales. He worked for All American Chevrolet and Jim Bass Ford, where he earned numerous awards for his performance. After moving to Abilene, he co-owned Vertical Loop Wireless with his wife Toni. Following the sale of the business, Danny worked as a department manager at Lowe’s and concluded his career as the General Manager for Window Depot.

Danny was a wonderful husband, dad, pops, friend, and boss. He loved to make people laugh and had a gift for telling animated, memorable stories.

His hobbies included fishing—especially his beloved Saturday fishing trips—and spending time with family. Danny also loved skating and played hockey for the San Angelo Double Aces, competing with his team at the Junior Olympics in California. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes with his boys, riding his Harley, and being outdoors whenever possible.

Danny was a member of Paul Ann Baptist Church. He considered his greatest accomplishments to be his boys, his family, his friends, and his faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and JoAnn Porter; his grandparents J.W. and Edith “Memaw” Gilbert; and Jack and Lorraine Porter.

There will be a celebration of Danny’s life to be held at a later date.
