The Lord suddenly and swiftly called Debra Mikulik and her beloved husband, Bryan, to their eternal heavenly home on Wednesday December 26th, 2018 at 12:25 PM. Debra Thompson Mikulik’s spirit was instantly released from her earthly body when the family vehicle was struck head-on by an on-coming van. The couple, along with their two teenage daughters, were traveling back to their home in Forney, Texas having spent a wondrous Christmas celebration with family in Wall, Texas when the tragic accident occurred. Debra was born April 5th, 1966 at Plainview, Texas to Sue & Ronnie Thompson. She began elementary school in Plainview until the beginning of her 2nd grade year when the family moved about 30 miles to Tulia. Debra lived with her family in Tulia, TX until graduating from Tulia High School. She participated in sports and even qualified for the State Competition in Cross Country Track her freshman and sophomore years. Following high school Debra attended Western Texas College for one year then transferred to Angelo State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business. She capitalized on her degree by working for a variety of different companies that included managing apartment complexes, dealing in commercial property, and logistics for Verizon Wireless. While working in property management, Debra began dating Bryan and soon realized she had found the love of her life. They were married 26 years ago on June 20th, 1992 in Bryan’s hometown - Wall, TX. Once married they bought a home and moved to Forney, Texas. In 2003, the couple’s dreams were solidified, their “miracle baby” Alexa Kate was born and just a year later the family was complete with the birth of their precious baby, Olivia Nicole. After moving to Forney, Bryan continued his work in healthcare while Debra began working logistics at Verizon. Debra left Verizon wanting to follow Bryan’s path and pursue a career in healthcare. She graduated Summa Cum Laude at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Debra’s intelligence and charismatic personality practically guaranteed her success as a professional and she quickly worked her way up through the ranks. Her most recent employment was with J. B. Hudco Logistics where she was Director of Transportation. Debra’s outgoing and caring personality brought happiness and joy to the people she met. She could light up the dreariest & darkest of rooms when she flashed her beautiful smile. She had the most infectious laugh - nobody could remain solemn in Debra’s presence. Debra never met a stranger, she could put anyone at ease. Those of us lucky enough to have known Debra are convinced that Heaven has to be an even brighter and happier place now that she is there. Debra was preceded in death by her father, Ronnie Thompson and his parents Bud & Adelle Thompson. Her doting maternal grandparents, Glen& Dorothy Tullis of Plainview, Texas. Debra took her final journey to be with God in Paradise together with her husband, not even in death did they part. Together they waited to welcome the arrival of their precious and cherished youngest daughter, Olivia Nicole, as she succumbed to her injuries from the collision and God mercifully released her spirit from her young, wounded body on December 31st, 2018 at 2:32am. Debra is survived by her cherished daughter, Alexa Kate, 15; her devoted mother, Sue Thompson of Forney; her beloved sister Sheila Thompson of Carrolton, TX; two loving aunts, Glenna Crooks of Tulia, TX and Barbara Pickett of Muskogee, OK; Gary Thompson of Amarillo, TX; Dennis Thompson of Colorado.
