Donald R. (Don) Moore

Donald R. (Don) Moore passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on December 22, 2018, at the age of 83. He was born on May 4, 1935 in Paducah, Texas to Harold and Katie Moore. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Melinda; sons Donald Jr. (Sherry) of Hatley, WI and William (Karen) Moore of Titusville, FL; brother David (Margaret) Moore of Clarksville, TX; sister Patricia (James) Cheatwood of Hooks, TX; three granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Dorothy Stewart McKee and Betty Brown; and a grandson Matthew Moore. Don retired from GTE in 1990 after 35 years of service, which took him to various locations in Texas as well as in Wisconsin. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and the Suez Shrine. Don’s family wishes to give special thanks for the compassionate care provided by Cindy, Amber, Miranda, Crystal, Kerri, and Chaplain Mike McCravy of St. Gabriel’s Hospice. Also extended thanks goes to the Bronte Health and Rehab Center for providing constant care in Don and Melinda’s time of need. The Visitation will be held from 6:00- 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Harper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on December 27, 2018 in the Harper Chapel with burial to follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
