On February 20, 2022, Douglas Eugene Rosser (Gene), 65, of San Angelo was surrounded by his loving family as he peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus. Gene was born March 12, 1956, in San Angelo as the second youngest of eight children to Lewis and Mildred Rosser. He married Pam Abbott on June 21, 1980, in Waco, Texas, and was blessed with three children and nine grandchildren. Gene was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, Pawpaw, and friend to all who knew him. He loved piddling in his hangar, flying his airplane with his brothers and sons, heart-to-heart talks with his daughter, taking trips with Pam, watching the Cowboys, and most of all cheering on his kids and grandkids in all of their many activities. His greatest joy, besides Pammy, was spending time with his grandchildren. He was so proud of the family that he and Pam built together. Gene spent his career driving for UPS, making many lifelong friends along the way. He always had a smile on his face and a laugh that was contagious. Gene was a firm believer in Christ and showed the love of Jesus to everyone he met. He and Pam were members of New Hope Bible Church. Upon arriving in heaven, Gene was reunited with several relatives and friends whom he loved and missed dearly including his parents Lewis and Mildred Rosser, his brothers Jimmie Rosser, Bryant Rosser, and Terry Rosser, and sister Barbara Bradshaw. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Pam; son Scott Rosser and wife Katie of Midland, son Daniel Rosser and wife Kelly of Granbury, daughter Kaleigh Bowhay and husband William of San Angelo; nine grandchildren Austin, Annie, Micah, Liam, Owen, Berkley, Collins, Kennedy, and Hudson. He is also survived by his brothers Roy Rosser and wife Kathy of San Angelo, brother Glenn Rosser and wife Peggy of San Angelo, and brother Gale Rosser and wife Karen of Santa Fe, Texas; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Visitation is from 5:00-7:00pm, Friday, February 25, 2022 at Harper’s Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Christian Church of San Angelo. Memorials may be made to Hillcrest School in Midland, Texas or Sierra Vista Child Development Center in San Angelo. Our hearts are broken and tears are falling in abundance, but there is peace knowing we will hear his laugh again when we are together in heaven.
