Douglas Wayne Steen

July 2, 1954 — June 22, 2025

San Angelo

Douglas Wayne Steen, 70, of San Angelo, TX went to be with his Lord on June 22, 2025 with his family at his side.

Doug was born July 2, 1954 in San Angelo to Clyde and Daisie (Boykin) Steen.

Doug grew up and attended school in San Angelo. During his childhood years, he attended East Angelo Assembly of God Church with his family.

Doug met the love of his life, Roylene (Bobo) Hallmark and they have spent 48 years together.

Doug was proficient in dry wall and painting, mostly during spring and summer months. This included working on the current Shannon Medical Center. He worked in the oil field during the winter months, mostly because of the weather and it was harder work.

He was also an expert in auto body and auto mechanics. He restored many vintage cars and built his own race cars assisted by his buddies and grandkids. He truly loved to race cars, and it became a family tradition.

Doug’s compassionate heart enabled him to assist many elderly with auto repair, plumbing, and painting.

Doug loved to ride his motorcycle. He and Bobo made many trips across Texas, such as the Twisted Sisters, Fort Davis, and Luckenbach, as well as West Virginia and Niagra Falls.

Doug is survived by wife, Bobo; son, Stephen Steen of Jacksonville, TX; daughters, Traci Harvey (Sam) of Keatchie, LA, Krystal Hallmark and Kasey Steen of San Angelo, TX; grandsons, Zach Bishop (Tayler) of San Angelo, Hunter Herd of Jacksonville, TX, Dylan McClelland, Levi Herd (Marsiela), Zane, Kolten, and Hunter K., all of San Angelo; granddaughters, Tiffeney Parks and Taylor McClelland-Moore (Marcus) of San Angelo; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Hinds (Randy); brother, Leroy Steen (Myranda); brother-in-law, John R. Hallmark (Diane) of Magnolia, Texas; sister-in-law’s, Barbara Whittaker of Odessa, David Ann Knight (Ronnie) of San Angelo, and Judie English (Paul Wayne) of San Angelo; and his fur babies, Compton and Hollywood.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his in-law’s, Roy and Shirlie Hallmark; sisters, Linda Walter and Judy Woods; brother-in-laws, Russell Woods and Alfred Woods; and great-granddaughter, McKenna Moore.
