Eddie R. “Boy” Lopez Jr. of Austin, Texas went to be with our Heavenly Father on June 26, 2022. Eddie was born in San Angelo, Texas on April 26, 1962, to Eddie R. Lopez Sr. and Minnie Martinez. He was the oldest of one sibling, Lera Wroblewski. He graduated from Central High School and attended Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. In 1992, Eddie moved to Austin, Texas, where he met and married the love of his life Marylisa Garcia Lopez/ Eddie worked as a billiard and swimming pool installation/service person. He then was known as “Ed the Pool Guy” throughout Austin and surrounding areas. His passions in life included attending and following the billiard circuit throughout Texas. He was named the “9-Ball Hill Country Champion” of 2004. Of course with the rhythm of a smooth pool player, came a smooth Tejano and R & B dancer. As his niece would lovingly call him “Tio Pimp”. He would light up any party not just with his smooth moves but his infectious smile. He was a bargain shopper who loved finding the best deals at his local thrift stores. But to get him in a great mood, you just needed to ask him to visit the nearest Home Depot as that was his “ candyland”. He would walk around the whole store with visions of remodeling our home and buying the newest tool gadget he could find. On occasion, Eddie yeared for his West Texas Chicken fried steaks. So yes, he had a to-go order from Henry’s Diner to be sent to Austin, Texas. Its called the “Austin Order”. They would package the “valuable yellow gravy” just right and it was sent by a greyhound bus or a family member. No one dared to ask him for a bite of his chicken fried steak and that valuable yellow gravy. Eddie was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Minnie Martinez, grandparents, Conrad Sr. and Macaria Lopez, Marcario “Mike” and Elivera Martinez, father and mother in-laws Juan Santiago and Mary Ann Garcia, uncles Conrad Lopez Jr, Richard Lopez, and Fred Caballero Sr., aunts Gloria Caballero and Christine Midian Lopez, cousins, Ronnie Caballero, Deda Caballero, Cecilia Caballero, Irve Caballero and David Cox.
