Edith Elizabeth Graham

October 1, 1932 — July 8, 2026

San Angelo

Edith Elizabeth Graham of San Angelo, Texas passed away on July 8, 2026, at the age of 93. She was born on Oct. 1, 1932, in Petty Texas to Charlie Bennett Lightfoot and Connie Dykes.

She was the oldest of four. She grew up around cotton gins, and graduated from Morton, Texas High School, where she met Bobby Graham. He thought she was the prettiest girl around, and he said she was the one. They married on July 29, 1949. They had two daughters and she was a stay-at-home mom. After the girls married, she worked at Dunlap’s in Odessa and then San Angelo. She retired there to stay at home and care for two of her great-grandchildren. She also cleaned Southgate Church of Christ where she was a faithful member. She retired from there at the age of 90.

Edith was best known by her love, dedication, thoughtfulness, and faithfulness. She always put people before herself, especially when it came to family. She was loved by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She played a humongous role in each of their lives. She fulfilled the role of a worthy woman as in Proverbs 31. As one of her grandsons said he really did have the best grandma.

Edith is survived by her daughters, LaFonda Overton of San Angelo and Rene and Son-in-Law Philip Stroud of Brady, five grandchildren, Reggie Felton, Kendall Felton, and Veronica Syler (Garry), Caleb Stroud (Christyn), and Joshua Stroud (Amber). She also had 9 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She has one surviving brother Jim Lightfoot (Donna) and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Graham is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Robert L. Graham, by sister Betty and Art Scott, and brother J.W. and Velma Lightfoot.

A celebration of life will be July 11, 2026, at Southgate Church of Christ at 11:00 AM, led by Kurt Chunn and Jason Yarborough. She will be buried in the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
