Edwin “Ed” Fred Kuehn, Jr of San Angelo, passed away on July 24, 2025 at the age of 92. He was born on July 18, 1933 in Houston, Texas to parents Edwin Fred Kuehn, Sr. and Irene Dorothy Baroski Kuehn.
He graduated from Saint Thomas High School in Houston and then attended the University of St. Thomas earning a BS in Physics in 1955. He briefly worked for Texas Instruments prior to entering the US Navy Reserves from 1956 – 1959 serving on the USS Independence and the Saratoga. He was honorably discharged and returned to work for Texas Instruments. There he met the love of his life Joanne Marie Rice. They were married on February 6, 1960 in Houston, TX. They were married for 65 years prior to his passing.
He worked for Texas Instruments for 37 years prior to his retirement in 1991. He worked at the plants in Houston, Temple, College Station and Austin. Upon his retirement, he also worked for Carrol Touch and Datum.
During his life, he was a devout Catholic. He most recently was attending Holy Angels Catholic Church in San Angelo. He enjoyed spending time with his family, the holidays, watching his children and grandchildren in sports, and watching the Houston Astros. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Ed is survived by his wife, Joanne; his four children Mark Kuehn (Janie), Eric Kuehn (Elisha), Kristina Snow (Craig) and Susan Moser (Sam); ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; one brother, Paul Kuehn and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty Ruthstrom and four brothers Charles, David, Daniel and John.
A viewing will be held on Monday, July 28 from 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Harper Funeral Home at 2606 Southland Blvd in San Angelo. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, July 29 at 1:30 PM at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 2309 A&M Avenue in San Angelo. A mass will be held immediately following the rosary on Tuesday, July 29 at 2:00 PM. The graveside burial will be on Wednesday, July 30 at 2:00 PM at Cook Walden Capital Park Cemetery in Pflugerville, TX
