Ervin J. Ripple

Ervin J. Ripple passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the age of 88. He was born to Jerry F. Ripple and Frances Pollak Ripple on October 26, 1928 in Lowake, Texas. He attended school in Lowake and then transferred to Paint Rock where he graduated in 1946. He received his Associates Degree from San Angelo College. On June 17, 1948, Ervin married Elizabeth Anne Barkley in San Angelo, Texas. They made their home in San Angelo, where he worked in retail sales and management, starting at Sears and Roebuck, and then Hemphill-Wells which later became Dillard’s Department Store. He retired after forty years of dedicated service. Ervin was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church for over sixty years. He was a member of Concho Lodge No. 1260, A.F.&A.M. He was also a Past Patron of Concho Chapter No. 826, Order of the Eastern Star. Ervin was preceded in death by is wife Elizabeth Anne, his parents, and five siblings. He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Karschner and husband Gary of San Angelo, and Suzanne Richardson and husband Scott of Trophy Club. He is also survived by granddaughter Cori Walker and husband Court, Cody Karschner, and Ryan Hendricks and wife Samantha. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, Taylor Walker, Taygan Walker, Kaitlyn Hendricks, Leila Grace Karschner, Caroline Hendricks, and Savannah Hendricks. He took great pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother Adolph Ripple of San Angelo, and Georgia Warren of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Visitation will be at Harper Funeral Home on Friday, February 3, 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Graveside services will be Saturday, February 4, at 11:00 A.M. at Fairmount Cemetery with Rev. Charlie Baskin, pastor of St. Luke United Methodist Church officiating. Pallbearers are Gary Karschner, Scott Richardson, Cody Karschner, Ryan Hendricks, Court Walker, and Taylor Walker. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Regency House for the wonderful care Ervin received in his last months. Special thanks is also given to Kindred Hospice for their compassionate care in his last days, and the comfort they gave to the family.
