Esau Cuellar, Jr.

Esau Cuellar Jr., 82, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026. He was born on March 31, 1944, in San Angelo, Texas, to Esau and Sara Cuellar.

On July 29, 1962, Esau married the love of his life, Mary. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around their family, love, and devotion to one another.

Esau proudly worked as a foreman for the City of San Angelo for 30 years. He was a hardworking man who took great pride in his work and in providing for his family. His dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment to those he loved were qualities that defined him throughout his life.

Esau found great joy in the simple things in life. He loved planting flowers, gardening, landscaping, and spending time with his family. He was also known for his wonderful storytelling and the countless memories he shared with those around him. His stories, laughter, wisdom, and love brought joy to many and will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.

Esau is survived by his children: Sandra and husband Gilberto Antu; Laura Cuellar; Linda and husband Pablo Barrientos; Larry Cuellar; and Tony and wife Gloria Cuellar. He is also survived by Jaymes Lopez, whom Esau loved dearly and considered a son.

He leaves behind many beloved grandchildren: Gilbert Cuellar, Micaela Llanas, Angelica Canales, Erineo Antu, Andres Antu, Veronica Corpus, Bianca Antu, Crystal Villarreal, Ricky Gonzales Jr., Janesca Montemayor, Pablo Barrientos, Gabriel Barrientos, Kimberly Bryan, Selena Barrientos, Chloe Cuellar, Kenzi Cuellar, Adrian Cuellar, Yvonne Minjarez, Tori Madrid, Christian Cuellar, Daniel Gonzalez, Noah Cuellar, and Morgan Cuellar.

Esau was also blessed with 50 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren, who brought him tremendous joy and filled his life with countless precious memories.

He is also survived by his brother, Danny Cuellar, and his sisters, Elfida Zuniga, Angie Rodriguez, and Gloria Cortez, along with numerous extended family members and dear friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M., Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 25, 2026, at Harper Funeral Home. The burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.

Pallbearers for the service will be Eddie “Nene” Antu, Gilbert Anthony Cuellar, Noah Esau Cuellar, Ricky Anthony Gonzales, Andres Antu and Jayden Gaitan. The honorary pallbearers for the service will be Ethan Perales, Nathaniel Llanas, Zavyian Fraire, Ricky Zaiah Gonzales, Braylen Barrientos, Brandon Zaidyn Gonzales and Kaleb Montemayor.

Though he is no longer with us, the love he gave, the stories he told, the flowers he planted, and the memories he created will remain forever. His legacy lives on through the family he loved so dearly and the many lives he touched throughout his 82 years.

Esau will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

May he rest peacefully in the arms of God, reunited with his beloved Mary.
