Fonda Ray Lumpkins

Fonda Ray Lumpkins, age 81, passed away on June 11, 2025, in San Angelo, Texas. He was born on October 3, 1943, to Gene and Nina Lumpkins in Bonham, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nell Ann Otte Lumpkins; and their daughters, Lisa (Eddie) Shell of San Angelo, Texas; Kari Malone of Boca Raton, Florida; His 4 beloved grandsons, Ryan (Caylan) Gandy of San Angelo, Texas, Jake (Brittany) Gandy of Dallas, Texas, Cade (Laura) Malone, and Blake Malone of Boca Raton, Florida; Great-granddaughter, Noell Gandy and expectant great-grandson, Roman Gandy. He is also survived by his sister, Sandy (Cliff) Hillin of Springtown, Texas.

Fonda graduated from Lake View High School in 1963 and later received his degree from Angelo State University. He retired from GTE. Fonda and Nell Ann married October 24, 1964, in San Angelo, Texas, at Johnson Street Church of Christ (where they are still members).

Fonda was a gun and knife enthusiast and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling with family and friends. Fonda was a bit of a prankster and loved to tease, especially the grandkids, who were his pride and joy. Fonda loved and was greatly loved by his family, and he will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations be made to a charity of your choice.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Harper Funeral Home with burial to follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
