It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gabriel “Gabe” Bullock, age 72, who passed at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas, on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Despite many health challenges, Gabe fought with unwavering courage and grace. He was a cherished son, brother and friend.
Gabe, son of Otto Bullock and Kathryn Rucker (Bullock) Barnes, was born on September 8, 1953, in Dallas, TX.
Gabe was employed at both the Red Lobster 409 and Long John Silver’s restaurants in San Angelo. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the University of Texas at Austin Longhorns and a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. Despite using a wheelchair, Gabe approached life with determination and did not allow his disability to limit his pursuits.
Gabe is survived by his mother, Kathryn Barnes of Bastrop, TX; his sisters, Ruth (Baby Ruth) Bullock of Bastrop, TX, and Betty Hall of Austin, TX. He is also mourned by two nephews, Ramon Adams and wife Tonya of Conroe, TX, and Christopher Bullock of Del Valle, TX, as well as one niece, Tanisha Hall of Austin, TX, along with extended San Angelo family members and many friends.
Gabe made a lasting impact on everyone, fortunate enough to know him. His kindness, caring nature, unforgettable smile, and giving heart will never be forgotten. Gabe maintained a strong commitment to his Christian faith and consistently demonstrated its principles in his life. While we grieve his absence, the love, resilience, and empathy he shared continue to inspire each of us.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to everyone who supported Gabe throughout his life and during his illness. We also extend special gratitude to the dedicated physicians and staff at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, TX—including all his medical professionals—for providing Gabe outstanding hope and care. The family also acknowledges Gabe’s caregiver, Maria Chacon, for her compassionate assistance.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Meals For The Elderly of San Angelo and David Griggs Yellow Checker Taxi Service for their valuable support.
The family would also extend our gratitude to the Cooper and Butler families, as well as Abiding Faith Church of the Nazarene. Additionally, the family thanks Harper Funeral Home for their professional and compassionate service.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the many friends who reached out with calls, texts, cards, and messages.
