Galen Ray Weiershausen

Galen Ray Weiershausen, 70, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 2, 2026, in San Angelo. Galen was born July 27, 1955, in Ysleta, TX to Erwin Walter and Carolyn Behrends Weiershausen. He grew up in San Angelo, Texas and graduated from Central High School. After high school, he attended Angelo State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in AG Science. Galen workednumerous jobs in his lifetime. He was one of the original EMT’s that started working for the San Angelo Fire Department. He also farmed and ranched in the family business with his father. Galen became a talented carpenter and started his companies, Angelo Cabinets and later, Benchmark Homes. He met and later married the love of his life Nancy Ann Ferguson on August 19, 1989, and they shared 36 wonderful years. Together they raised two children, Cody and Taylor in San Angelo. In his spare time, when he wasn’t building great homes, Galen loved to go fishing, trapping and hunting. Anyone who knew Galen, knew on any given day you could find him on a lake with a fishing pole in his hand. He especially loved competing in tournaments with his buddies through bass clubs and other fishing trails. However, nothing brought him more joy than watching Cody and Taylor compete in sports from childhood through high school years. Whether you needed a laugh or life advice, you could count on him to welcome you with quick wit, plentiful stories, and a how-to guide for anything you needed. His work ethic and stubbornness was unmatched and there’s too many qualities to name that will be missed by those that loved him. Galen is survived by his parents, Erwin and Carolyn Weiershausen, of San Angelo; his wife, Nancy Weiershausen, of San Angelo; his children, Cody Weiershausen and his wife Taylor, of San Angelo and Taylor (Weiershausen) and Tyler O’Bryan, of San Angelo; his grandchildren, Everett, Emerson and Easton Weiershausen and one more on the way, Collins O’Bryan; his sister, Karen Hamlin, of San Angelo; and numerous nieces and nephews plus two special childhood friends, Tony Jones and Mike Hensley. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., Friday, March 6, 2026, at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Harper Funeral Home. The burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. The family requests that donations be made to M.D. Anderson Medical Center or the Shannon Oncology Center.
