Gordon Olen Scott, 97, of Blackwell, TX went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 15, 2019 in Blackwell, TX. Gordon was born April 9, 1922 in Montalba, TX to Olen Melvin Scott and Mamie Ethel Jolly Scott. His family later moved to Cayuga, TX where Gordon grew up and graduated from High School. He married the love of his life, Joshlyn Van Deman on December 15, 1941 in Cayuga and they shared 77 beautiful years together. Gordon served his country honorably in the United States Army during WWII. He worked in the petroleum industry most of his life and retired from Getty Oil Company in 1985. Gordon was a loving husband, father and grandfather who devoted his life to his family and enjoyed spending time with them. In his spare time, he loved wood working, hunting and fishing. Gordon will be dearly missed by all who loved him! He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Olen and Harold Scott. Gordon is survived by his wife, Joshlyn “Joy” Scott, of Blackwell, TX; 2 sons, Gary Scott, of Blackwell, and Dennis Scott, of Tow, TX; 3 Grandsons, Greg, Bryan and Rusty Scott; 1 Granddaughter, Jennifer; and 3 Great Grandsons, Tucker, Jack and Garrison. The Memorial Service will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Harper Funeral Home chapel in San Angelo, TX.
