Graciela (Grace) Flores Gomez, 67, entered through the gates of Heaven to her heavenly Father on Tuesday February 15, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Grace was born to Gilbert and Helena Flores on September 18, 1954, in San Angelo, TX. On August 26, 1974, she joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged as a SP5 August 25, 1978, during her tenure in the Army she was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. After her military service she answered her calling to become a nurse. She graduated from Howard College and began her career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She worked in the Dialysis Unit at Shannon Medical Center for many years and loved her patients and treated each one of them as family. Most recently she worked in the Pre-Op department where she was still able to speak to patients. Grace was caring, empathetic, loving and nurturing to her patients and co-workers alike; she quickly became a mentor and “work mom” to many of them. Grace was married to Augustino Gomez, Jr.; on January 3, 1987, in Ralls, Texas where their union with 2 sons and 2 daughters as a blended family began. She was a wonderful wife, dedicated mother and grandmother to a fault; there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her family. We are blessed to call her our sister, she kept our secrets (only shared them with the other 2 sisters and brother). She was sweet, understanding and never judged anyone she was full of forgiveness and love for everyone.
