Helen V. Davis

San Angelo, Texas – Helen Davis 97, passed away quietly at home on 8-16-23 with her Daughter Brenda Johnson, her granddaughter Tamara and great-granddaughter Ashley by her side. She was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, and raised in Santa Anna, Texas until she moved to San Angelo, Texas. The Daughter of Thomas & Myrtle Swaringin.

Helen graduated from San Angelo High School, after high school she worked in different jobs until she went to work for the M-System groceries store as a checker on Chadbourn Street. She meets the love of her life Elmer Davis in the produce section. They were married in 1947 and were married for 41 years. Helen retired from Lake View High School. She was the Manager of the food service for the school system. Growing up, we always stopped by the kitchen each morning to see her, and she would give us a fresh handmade roll with butter.

Helen loved to read, and crochet. She made each of her grandbabies a beautiful handmade quilt. She loved her grandbabies and her great grandbabies, and her only great, great grandbaby. She raised three kids and worked full-time. She always made time to make each of us feel special and loved. She was a caregiver and always helped anyone in need and all loved her. She had a great memory and she could tell you about every birthday of each child and adult. A special thank you to Brenda & Rodnie Johnson for their dedication and love and for allowing our Mother to live with them in the last years of her life. Special thank you to Concho Heart Hospice nurse Cindy & aid Christina.

Her parents predeceased Helen in death, along with her faithful husband Elmer Davis, four Brothers, and their wives. Her Daughter Barbara Eades and husband Tommy Eades. Her Son-law Rodnie Johnson, he loved to pick on her and make her laugh.

Granddaughter Charlotte & husband Todd Foret from Pine Arizona. Great grandkids Aubrey Brixey & husband Rhett Francis and great, great granddaughter Stevie Francis from Queen Creek. Great grandson Jack Foret from Chandler Arizona. Granddaughter Danielle & husband Daniel Deason, great grandkids Mia & Jake Deason from San Tan, Arizona. Grandson Erik & wife Shair Davis, great grandkids Kinsley & Kambri Davis from Mesa, Arizona. Daughter Brenda Johnson from San Angelo, Texas. Granddaughter Tamara Benton from San Angelo, great-granddaughter Banee & Ashley Benton from San Angelo, Texas. Grandson Casey Johnson from San Angelo, Texas.
