Howard Brett Jones

Howard Brett Jones, 63, born and raised in San Angelo was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, June 22, 2023, surrounded by his loving family and lifelong friends.

Even though Brett didn’t complete high school, he entered the Oilfield at the young age of 16, he spent the next 40 plus years of his life in the casing crew business, where he remained the face of casing crews in San Angelo through many transitions. In the most recent years of his life, he spent his time being known as Grandpa aka Pappee to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Brett was a true advocate for the “Underdog”, there wasn’t a person he met that he didn’t greet with a loving heart and open arms. Brett didn’t care where you came from or your past, he would feed you, help you get a job, and even give you a place in his home to lay your head at night. Brett’s home and heart were full of love and the true picture of the saying “No Judgement Here”. Brett loved to tell stories and make people laugh.

Brett was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lavenia Nard, his parents, Bill Jones and Francis Nard, and his loving daughter, Jaysi Jones.

Brett is survived by his brother, Craig Jones, his daughter, Brandi Jones, his son Jeremy Jones and his wife Becky, his daughter and best friend Jordan Jones, his son Hunter Sadler and his wife Maria, and his son Hayden Jones. He has eight grandchildren-Jefferey, Xavier, Kaci, Natalie, Haley, Layla, Journey, and Jayse. He also has seven great grandchildren-Brooke, Jaxon, Jillian, Casen, Willow, Lillian, and Daisy. Honorary Family Members-Paula Shelton, Juley Zapata, and David Dudley.

Visitation will be 6:00pm-8:00pm, Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Harper’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 9:00am at Immanuel Baptist Church. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Brett’s life after the visitation and funeral services at “The Hideout” located at Cain’s Cove-Lake Nasworthy.
