Jack "Squeaky" David Lane

May 25, 1949 — February 16, 2023

Jack David Lane, known to many as Squeaky, passed from this life into the arms of Our Lord on February 16, 2023, at the age of 73. He was born on May 25, 1949, to Jack and Mary Lou Lane.

During his early years, he lived in many places and attended many schools, as his Dad worked as a ranch foreman in many areas of the state. Squeaky spent years working on ranches, developing a love for the outdoors, livestock, wildlife, woodworking, welding, archery and hunting. In 1972, he began his career with the Texas Department of Transportation, retiring in 2011.

Squeaky loved people and he was a man of many talents. He participated in mountain man reenactments, demonstrating primitive camping and fire-starting methods. He coached Zackary’s Little League teams and served on the Wall Little League Board for many years. He was a master brisket cook, providing the main course for countless family gatherings. Squeaky was always the fun participant in activities such as horse shoes and fire work displays. He loved Wall Hawk sports and spent countless Friday nights traveling to cheer them on. He was especially proud the year Zackary’s Wall baseball team won the Class 3A State Championship.

Squeaky was a man of faith, he loved Jesus and he loved his Wall Brethren Church family. He served on the Church Board of Elders, Church Building Committee and as a volunteer in the Church Office. He loved young people and served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years.

Squeaky was preceded in death by his parents, his In-laws, Frank, Jr., and Libby Holik, his brother, Roy Lane, his sister, Sandra Irish, and by his Sister In Law, Lisa Holik. He is survived by his wife, Libby, his daughter, Kindra, and by his son, Zackary. Also, by his Brothers and Sisters In Law, John Irish, Ramona Lane, Dewayne and Beverly Givens, Frank Holik, III, and Gary Holik. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Keith and Terri Lane, Slade and Jessica Hogan, Samantha Malloy, Tony and Melissa Schneider, Phillip and Sheila Manning, Michael and Priscilla Holik, Jake and Lindsey Anderson, Buffy Black and Jodie Irish.
