Jacqueline "Jackie" (Jackson) Conaway Jackie was born on August 24, 1946, in Ringgold, GA, to William and Margaret Jackson. She was a 1965 graduate of Cartersville High School in Cartersville, GA. She married Raye Conaway in 1968 in Ft. Hood, TX. They have three children, Stewart, John, and Raye Jr. She was initially baptized Catholic but changed her denomination to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was baptized in 1985 while stationed with her husband in Nuremberg, Germany. Jackie was a licensed cosmetologist after attending beauty school in 1965 and was a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) after attending the Great Plains Technology Center in Lawton, OK, in 1975. She was a nurse at the San Angelo Community Medical Center, San Angelo, TX, from 1988 until her retirement in 2007. She worked on the OB/GYN and pediatric wards attending to and caring for the many children and babies born there. Jackie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved watching the Price Is Right and watching anything that dealt with alien conspiracies. She loved spending time with her grandchildren especially when making spaghetti for them. One of her many interests included Native American art and collecting many things like tiny baby dolls, and decorative teaspoons. Jackie is survived by her husband, Raye Conaway, Sr., of San Angelo, TX; children, Stewart Conaway of Centennial, CO, John Conaway of San Angelo, TX, and Raye Conaway, Jr., of San Angelo, TX; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her siblings, twin brother William (Bill) Jackson of Woodstock, GA, Patricia (Pat) Beck of Jamestown, TN, and John Jackson, of Graham, WA, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Linda King. Jacqueline will be available for viewing from 8:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M., Friday, June 19, 2020 at Harper Funeral Home. There will be a visitation beginning at 9:00 A.M., Saturday, June 20, 2020 followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 AM on Saturday, at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints on Southwest Blvd. in San Angelo. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may share condolences and sign the online register book at www.harper-funeralhome.com
