Jerry Wayne McAdams

Jerry Wayne McAdams, age 51, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, at Cedar Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on September 10, 1974, in Huntsville, Texas, Jerry was the beloved son of Robert and Sherry McAdams. A bright and dedicated student, Jerry was the Valedictorian of the Groveton High School Class of 1993. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts in History from Sam Houston State University in May of 1998, along with obtaining his history composite teaching certification.

In August of 1997, while still in college, Jerry was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Despite this life-altering diagnosis, he went on to fulfill his calling as a history teacher and coach at schools in Coldspring and Dawson. After two years in education, his condition led him to retire from teaching, but not from serving others.

He moved with his parents to Lueders, Texas at the Big Country Baptist Encampment, and then to Junction, Texas in 2009 and in his last years he lived in Menard Manor and Cedar Manor. Wherever he was, he remained active in church life, even helping with children’s Sunday school classes. His unwavering faith, love for Jesus, and contagious positivity deeply impacted everyone who knew him.

He was known for his warm smile, kind spirit, and selfless attitude. A lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros, Jerry loved talking sports—cheering in the highs and sharing in the lows. His signature phrase, “Whatever!” captured his lightheartedness and willingness to go along with life’s ups and downs with grace and humor.

Jerry is survived by his devoted mother, Sherry McAdams; his brother, Rob McAdams, and wife April; nieces Madison Dennis (Trey) and Macy McAdams; great-nieces Sunnie and Sophie Dennis; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee McAdams Sr.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at College Street Church of Christ, 815 College Street, Junction, Texas 78645.
