Jim Steger

On September 19, 2026, the deer and dove looked to the sky as Heaven took another angel, Jim Steger.

Jim was born in San Angelo, Tx to Jacquelyn Carr and Earl Steger on November 26, 1934. He graduated from Mertzon and went to Sul Ross University. Alpine is where West met East, his wife of 70 years Ann Green. Jim graduated from the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston. He went on to have fifty plus years as a Physical Therapist. He worked in Colorado then he and Ann settled in San Angelo where they raised two children Scott and Stephanie.

Jim is survived by his Wife, Ann; Son, Scott Steger; Daughter Stephanie Steger. He also leaves two granddaughters, Mattie Claire (Sekou) and Caroline (Joey). He has a nephew, Ken Steger; two great granddaughters, Eloise and London.

Mr. Steger is preceded in death by his parents and Brother Bob.

A graveside service will be held on September 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Sherwood Cemetery.

The Family would like to thank the many friends for their love and kindness. Special thanks to Lisa Nickel Steger and Carley Doyle for your support. His days were filled with antics from his three fur granddogs, Prissy, Pasleigh, and Coco Chanel.
