Joan E. Parham, aka Mother, Mamacita, Momma, Mom, Grandma, Aunt Joan, and GG gained her heavenly angel wings today. She had just celebrated her 90th birthday.
She was born in Rome, Georgia in 1935 but has lived in Texas many years, and her final resting place was San Angelo. She proceeded in death by her mother, Faye Hobbgood, her father, Guy Parham, her brother Gene Parham and her sister Carlene Baggett. She is also proceeded in death by her son Dallas “Hank” Pierce.
She served in the military during the Korean War and was part of the Women’s Army Corp (WAC) branch. Through her life she served as a CASA Advocate and helped numerous children through her years. And though petite in size, she also drove an 18-wheeler across the US and Canada.
Her main hobbies were sewing and quilting, and she had an abundance of love for her family and friends.
She is survived by 4 of her 5 children, Judy Lewis of San Angelo, Kathey Hall and spouse Butch of Midland, Tom Black & spouse Linda of Kimberling City, MO, Barbara Hobbs and spouse Paul of Edmond, OK. She is also survived and was blessed to have celebrated 5 generations as long as she did which included 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren and many more children that were “welcomed” into our family along the way. All who knew her will miss her severely.
The family with be having a small private ceremony on Friday, June 27, 2025. We would like to thank Harper Funeral Home for their kind assistance and any memorials be made to further research in Alzheimer's / Dementia.
