In Loving Memory of John “Mike” Marshall Dodson April 15, 1963 – August 10, 2026, John Marshall Dodson, lovingly known as Mike to his family and friends, passed away on August 10, 2026. Mike was a man of tremendous heart, faith, and compassion. He was a devoted Christian who believed strongly in God and Jesus Christ, and his faith was an important part of the life he lived and the way he treated others. Mike made a lasting impact on the recovery community, where he dedicated much of his life to helping others. He helped many, many people find hope, strength, and a path forward. He understood the importance of second chances and never hesitated to offer encouragement or lend a helping hand to someone in need. His influence reached far beyond those closest to him, and countless people will remember him for the difference he made in their lives. Mike was known for his 1,000-watt smile, his warmth, and his ability to make people feel welcome. His love for others and his genuine desire to help made him someone people could turn to. Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Kelly Dodson, and his children: Brenna Lange, Matthew Lange Jr, Robert Spurgeon, Sarah Spolidoro, and Carrie Dodson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ashlyn, Mikah, and Tripp Lange, Dalton and Isaac Spurgeon. Mike is survived by his siblings Joel Dodson, Sandra Rankin, and Tonya Ussery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Dodson and Freddie Ruth Chapman, and his siblings Thomas Dodson, Lester Dodson, and Katherine Vahalik. Mike’s life was defined by his faith, his love for his family, and his commitment to helping others. The countless people he encouraged and helped throughout his life are part of the legacy he leaves behind. His smile, his kindness, his faith, and the hope he gave to others will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Mike. Your life made a difference, and your memory will live on in all those whose lives you touched. A Celebration of Life will be Sept. 12, 2026, From 1:00 – 4:00 P.M., at Forgiven Ministries in San Angelo, 2900 FM 2105, San Angelo, TX, 76901.
