John Triplett Foster

Our beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, John Triplett Foster, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021. John T. had a great sense of humor and enjoyed his many friends. John T., born February 17, 1953, in San Angelo, Texas, was the youngest of the four children born to Horace Martin ‘Pete’ Foster and Marie Triplett Foster. He attended San Angelo schools. When the Vietnam War lingered, he became a U.S. Marine and served in Laos and Cambodia. Following his USMC service, John became a driller in the oilfields of West Texas and worked for several companies. John later worked several years for the City of Ballinger as an electrician. In 2005, John and Jana Knight Smith were married in San Angelo. John is survived by his devoted wife Jana, his son James Russell ‘Rusty’ Foster (Dawn) and their daughters Ayla and Jayleigh of Amarillo; sons Blake Smith (Kenzie) and their children Wyatt and Walker of League, Texas; Ryan Smith (Robin) and son Paiton of Wheeler, Texas; and Nathan Smith (Marsha) and children Lorabelle, Zane, Otis, and MaryJo of Jayton, Texas. Also surviving John are his sisters Golda Marie Foster McMahon (David) and daughter Allison McMahon, JoAnn Allen (Ronnie) and their son Shannon (Lara) Allen, all of San Angelo; and his brother H.M. II (Antoinette) and their daughters Heather (Coty) of San Antonio, Jonette Wiginton (Brent) and their children Colton, Cash, and Carlee of Woodsboro, and son Bradley Pici (Linda) of Corpus Christi. John Leaves many wonderful cousins and friends to cherish his memory. A small graveside service will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, August 14, 2021, in the Old Runnels Cemetery, FM2887 north of Ballinger, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Harper Funeral Home and Crematory.
