John William "Johnny" Kelso Ii

January 17, 1969 — May 15, 2023

John (Johnny) William Kelso, II, age 54, of San Angelo, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023. John was born on January 17, 1969, at Barksdale AFB. John was the only child of John and Loyce Kelso.

He graduated from Nederland High School and attended Howard College. John worked at the San Angelo State School until his retirement. While at the State School he met the love of his life, Michele. They started their life together as man and wife on July 15, 2000. John loved family and being a dad. Helping raise Michele’s boys and their daughter, Rene, were the happiest moments of his life.

John, Michele and Rene’ are all active members of the Paul Ann Baptist Church, where the Men’s Group has been a blessing in the Kelso house.

John Kelso is survived by his wife, Michele Kelso of San Angelo, Texas; mother, Loyce Kelso; children Senjen Browder and grandchildren Madalynn and Weston; Clinton Browder (Kandice) and grandchildren Grant, Addison, Leon, Cypher, Scarlett; and Rene’ Kelso.

John is predeceased by his father, John Kelso; In laws Michael and Judy Schmickle; a special aunt and uncle, Joyce and Mel, who helped raise him; and a sweet baby angel that he and Michele lost.

A memorial service will be held at Paul Ann Baptist Church in the Impact Auditorium at 10:00am on Saturday May 20, 2023. Services will be conducted by Willie Rojas. Men Standing in Honor will be Chris Dunbar, Travis Griffith and Stephen Foster.
