Judy JoAnn Benes Fowler, of San Angelo, went home to her Lord on September 10, 2026, at the age of 70. She was born December 1, 1955; in San Angelo, TX to parents James R. Benes. Sr. and Vena Cunningham Benes.
Judy spent her formative years at 1119 S. Bell St. with her parents and four siblings. She attended Central High School where she graduated and later met the love of her life Scotty Gid Fowler whom she married May 5,1979 at First Christian Church of San Angelo. Their marriage was blessed with two sons and 47 years of happiness. She spent most of her life working in the field of sales and customer service. She spent time working for companies such as National Furniture, Sears, Nathan’s Jewelry and the Base Exchange. She discovered her true passion with the creation of her candle company, Candles Handmade by JF. This business led her to spread light and aroma all over the world. She also found love for organization and community through her endeavors with the Cactus Market Days, Texas Independence Day Festival, and Shopping on the Drag and other events throughout Texas.
Judy is survived by her beloved husband Scotty Gid Fowler, her sons Andrew Scott Fowler of San Angelo, Adam Scott Fowler and his wife Amanda Wallace Fowler of North Carolina and grandchildren Knoxcellea Fowler and Ben Fowler of North Carolina. Sisters Joyce Benes Hicks of Maryland and Joan Benes Watkins of San Angelo. Niece Mary Hicks Mazethis and husband Chris Mazethis of Maryland and Nephews Danny Hicks Jr. of Maryland, Alex Eudy, Shawn Watkins and girlfriend Jessica Kendrick, Joshua Watkins all of San Angelo. She is also survived by Grandnieces/nephews: Emma Stull, D. J. Hicks and Hannah Hicks of Maryland. She is also survived by countless friends, extended family and loved ones.
Judy Fowler was preceded in death by her parents James R Benes Sr. and Vena Cunningham Benes. Her Siblings James R. Benes Jr. and Janet E. Eudy and other extended family and friends who are welcoming her home.
