June Laverne Sanderson Bullock

June Laverne Sanderson Bullock, 92, of Granite Shoals, TX passed away on April 24, 2022.

Born in Garza Texas to Maggie Leona (Sandy) Thomas Sanderson and Bruce Franklin Sanderson, Laverne and her brothers, Ammon Clark Sanderson (dcsd) and Arnold Thomas Sanderson (dcsd) were raised by their maternal grandparents. Laverne’s oldest brother Ammon passed away when he was just 10 years old with her father passing away just 3 years later at the age of 38.

Laverne loved gambling, cooking, “Concho Riders Club” playdays, the National Association of Sheriff’s Posse’s and Riding Clubs as well as visiting with family in Ruidoso, New Mexico and Colorado.

She married the late Archie Gerald Bullock in 1946, and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage. Life experiences had them living in Lubbock, TX, San Diego, CA, Las Vegas, NV and San Angelo, TX where they owned and operated Jerry’s Burgers for 26 years. Laverne is survived by three daughters: Dolores Harris, of Niwot, CO; Marilyn Holder, of Carrolton, TX; and Tarina Whaley and her husband Ken, of Granite Shoals, TX. She was blessed with 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren. Laverne was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Bullock in 1998; son A.G. (Jerry) Bullock Jr in 1994; son-in-law Amos Holder; her granddaughter Kristi Holder Martin in 2022.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Harper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Harper Funeral Home with interment to follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
