Karen Ann Neumann of San Angelo, passed away peacefully at home on August 26, 2026, from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. She was born on November 4, 1945, in San Angelo, TX to parents Cecil and Joy (Dodson) Smart.
Karen grew up in San Angelo, Texas. She excelled as a student, participated in many academic and social groups, and attended Lake View Baptist Church. She graduated from Lake View High School in 1964, then married Ray Mosley of San Angelo in August 1965. Karen was a professional seamstress, and a dedicated homemaker. She loved music, dancing, playing volleyball, bowling, playing games, attending Bible Studies and singing in the church choir. For many years she did alterations for high-end bridal and professional retailers, even sewing draperies for one of Willie Nelson’s homes. In her 50’s she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Angelo State University in May 1994. She worked in accounting for Austin Museum of Art and the Austin Symphony. In 2000 she married Gerry Wyatt, and after his passing, married Dave Neumann in 2017. Her passion for travel brought many adventures. She loved sewing and crafting but excelled at quilting. An active member of Glen Meadows Baptist Church, she also loved her quilting and neighborhood groups.
She is survived by one sibling, her brother, Steve (Brenda) Smart, and her two children - Rhea Ann (Brent) Loganbill and Michael Mosley. She is beloved by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and countless other nephews, nieces, and friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Joy Smart and siblings, Kay, Terry, and Belinda, and 2 husbands Gerry Wyatt and David Neumann.
The Memorial Service will be at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Glenn Meadows Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorials for Rust Street Ministries in memory of Karen Smart Neumann available at ruststreetministries.org.
