Kimberley Kaye McNeill

Kimberley Kaye “Kim” McNeill, 52, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026, in San Angelo, Texas. She was born on March 14, 1974, in San Angelo, where she spent much of her life.

Kim was the devoted wife of Jon McNeill and the proud mother of Shelby, 26, and Ashlynn, 16, both of San Angelo. She was the daughter of Larry and Linda Pope, the younger sister of Melissa, and the best friend of Chelsea. Her family held a special place in her heart, and she treasured the time spent together, whether gathered around a table, sharing stories, or simply enjoying each other’s company.

A graduate of Central High School and Angelo State University, Kim began what would become a lifelong career in banking. Her intelligence, dedication, and exceptional work ethic earned her the trust of both coworkers and customers. She was often the person others relied on when they needed an answer or someone they could count on. In recent years, Kim served as Operations Officer, a position that reflected the leadership and respect she had earned throughout her career. She took great pride in her work and was known for her dependability and commitment.

One of the most meaningful chapters of Kim’s life began during her time at Bowman Lumber, where she met Jon, the love of her life. Together, they built a life centered around their daughters and the people who mattered most to them.

Outside of work, Kim’s greatest joy was being a mother. She was deeply involved in Shelby and Ashlynn’s lives and extracurricular activities, always showing up to support them and, true to her nature, keeping a watchful “mama bear” eye over her girls. She was fiercely protective, endlessly supportive, and incredibly proud of both of them.

Kim had a quick wit and a personality that made her unforgettable. She loved listening to her favorite rock bands, reminiscing, gathering with family and friends, and telling the stories that could turn an ordinary visit into an evening of laughter. She was also known for her incredible cooking and her ability to recite her favorite movie quotes at just the right moment. These little pieces of Kim—her humor, her stories, her cooking, and her unmistakable personality—are among the things those closest to her will carry with them.

Kim will be remembered for her sharp mind, strong work ethic, quick wit, fierce loyalty, and, above all, the way she showed up for the people she cared about. Her greatest legacy will be the family she built, the lives she touched, and the memories that will continue to bring laughter and comfort to those who knew her.

Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Linda Pope, and her sister, Melissa. She is survived by her husband, Jon McNeill; her daughters, Shelby and Ashlynn; her best friend, Chelsea; and extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

A memorial service will be held, and the service time will be announced on a later date.
