Larry Oneal Thomas, Sr., age 82, passed away peacefully at his home on May 4, 2026, in San Angelo, Tx. He was born on November 21, 1943, in Abilene, Tx where he grew up and graduated from Abilene High School.Larry lived a full and hardworking life, wearing many hats throughout the years and touching countless lives along the way. Early in his career, he worked as a journalist for the Abilene Reporter-News, where his love for storytelling and photography flourished. He later became a successful business owner in San Angelo. First opening the Economy Paperback Exchange, as well as a licensed Gun Smith. Then operating Professional Dog Grooming of San Angelo and Thomas Professional Photography of San Angelo. Most recently, he proudly owned and operated Paw Perfect Mobile Pet Grooming for many years, serving the community with dedication and care. His wife, Cindy & daughter, Kresta are keeping his legacy going with Paw Perfect to this day.On August 27, 1971, Larry married the love of his life, Cynthia Ann Allison after they met while Cindy was working with his mom at Timex. Together they shared nearly 55 beautiful years of marriage, building a loving home and raising two children in San Angelo, Tx. Their marriage was one of deep devotion, partnership, and unwavering love.Larry had a passion for photography and especially enjoyed developing his own film in the darkroom he built at home. He had a love for cooking, whether in a restaurant or at home. He also loved classic cars and was a proud member of the Concho Valley Street Rods in San Angelo. Whether behind a camera lens, working with animals, or admiring classic automobiles, Larry approached life with creativity, pride, and enthusiasm.Above all else, Larry was a devoted family man. His family was the center of his world, and he dedicated his life to caring for and supporting those he loved. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, kind heart, sense of humor, and the love he gave so freely to family and friends.Larry’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.Larry was preceded in death by his parents and numerous dear friends.He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Thomas, of San Angelo; his son, Larry Oneal Thomas, Jr. of San Angelo; his daughter, Kresta Kiann Thomas-Rollins and her husband Travis, of San Angelo; 3 grandchildren, Whitaker Hudson, Rosalie Ruby and Gracelyn Joy Rollins, all of San Angelo; his brother, Gary Hendrix, of Abilene; and his niece and nephews, Deana, Tommy and Stevie; he is also survived by numerous other family members and close friends.The memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Immanuel Baptist Church in San Angelo with Pastor Ryan Buck officiating.
