Linda Faye Ullery

On September 11, 2026, Linda Faye Ullery peacefully returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father and to her sweetheart Jerry Dean Ullery. Linda was born March 29, 1943, near San Antonio, Texas to Albert and Mildred Holder. At the young age of three, she began playing the piano and studied with her teacher Emma for many years. Linda was blessed with perfect pitch and could play any song on the piano simply from hearing it once. Throughout her life she blessed others by playing for many church, school, and choir performances. As she got older, she volunteered to play weekly at several nursing homes and hospice care centers, blessing so many with her love and musical talents.

Linda was a bright student and graduated a year early from High School at 17. She then attended Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa, where she met the love of her life, Jerry. Their first date was to a school dance, and Linda was hesitant to go, but Jerry swept her off her feet, literally carrying her to the car in the rain so she wouldn’t get her feet wet. Four years later, on June 13, they were married in Independence, Missouri. Four children blessed their marriage. She was always proud and happy that she shared her birthday with her oldest child, Ken.

Jerry and Linda moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where they joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She treasured being a member of the Black Forest Branch and the friendships she made there. In 1978 Linda and Jerry were sealed to their four children in the Provo Utah Temple. Linda spent her life studying the scriptures, serving in church callings, and sharing her love for Jesus Christ with those she met. She embodied many of Christ’s characteristics. She showed love, kindness, charity and service each day to those she loved and to strangers on the street. Linda loved to help and was always taking care of those around her.

With Jerry working as a truck driver Linda moved to many different places including Chicago, IL and Blue Springs, MO. She truly loved the time they lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She loved living in the country and often pointed out the wildlife as you would drive into town. She made great friends there and was sad to leave them when she moved to Utah due to her health.

Nearly a decade ago Linda was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. Even in the face of her struggles with this diagnoses, she continued to touch the lives of those she met. As a resident of The Charleston care facility in Cedar Hills, Utah she brought music to the halls each day. She was a fierce Uno and Phase 10 player and never met a word search she could not solve. She loved putting puzzles together and visiting with the other residents.

In 2024, Linda moved to San Angelo, Texas to live with her daughter, Lisa Freeman, and her family. They took wonderful care of Linda and continued to help her be involved in church and community activities for as long as possible. In spite of her difficulties with dementia, Linda brought inspiration to those around her as she continued to play for her church choir until the beginning of this year. She moved to the Sagecrest Memory Care community this summer where she was lovingly attended by their staff and by the Concho Hearts Hospice nurses. After almost 3 months at the Sagecrest, Linda passed away peacefully with her loving daughters at her bedside. She was 83 years old.

Linda is survived by her four children, Kenneth Ullery, Lisa Freeman (Drew), Julie Sorensen (Andrew), and Robert Ullery (Kimber), 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, her brother Albert Holder, and sister Sara Michaels. She was preceded in death by her sweetheart Jerry Dean Ullery, her parents, Albert and Mildred Holder, her brothers, Timothy and John David Holder, her in-laws, Howard Ullery and Gertrude Ullery, her sister-in-law, Sharon Willis, and grandson, Nabeel Ullery.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 3:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. 2815 Christoval Road San Angelo, Texas. Linda will be laid to rest next to Jerry in Eastonville Cemetery, in Elbert, Colorado on October 3, 2026 at 2:00 P.M.
